Alice Cox

Viola
Solo and Ensemble Viola
Alice’s journey with the viola has been both challenging and rewarding. She began playing in fifth grade, inspired by her best friend who played the violin. Throughout high school, she excelled, participating in Solo and Ensemble Festivals as well as All-State Orchestra. College, however, brought new challenges. She struggled with intonation and achieving the rich sound she sought, and technical difficulties at times left her feeling discouraged. Meeting her husband, Jaxon Cox, a Cello Performance major, reignited her passion. His dedication to music inspired her to continue with renewed determination.
While mastering the viola remains her greatest challenge, Alice believes that her own struggles make her uniquely equipped to teach beginner and intermediate students facing similar obstacles. She is excited to help others discover the joy of playing the viola and invites students to start their musical journey with her today.
